Welcome to Affirmcity. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of affirmcity.com (the “Site”), run by Affirmcity (“we”, “us”, “our”). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. About Affirmcity
Affirmcity publishes free affirmations, letters of encouragement, faith-based reflections and general wellbeing articles. You do not need an account to read anything on the Site.
2. Not professional advice
Everything on the Site is for general information, encouragement and inspiration only. It is not medical, psychological, nutritional, financial, legal or other professional advice, and it is not a substitute for it.
- Our health and wellbeing articles are general guides. Always speak to a qualified doctor or health professional before changing your diet, medication, exercise or treatment, and never ignore or delay professional advice because of something you read here.
- Affirmations can support a positive mindset, but they are not a treatment for mental health conditions. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, please contact your local emergency services or a crisis helpline right away.
You are responsible for how you use the information on the Site.
3. Using the Site
You may read, share links to and print our content for your own personal, non-commercial use. You agree not to:
- copy, republish, sell or distribute our content, in whole or in substantial part, without our written permission;
- use the Site for anything unlawful, harmful, misleading or fraudulent;
- attempt to hack, disrupt, overload or gain unauthorised access to the Site, its servers or its data;
- use bots, scrapers or other automated tools to copy content or collect information from the Site;
- upload or send viruses, malware or any other harmful code.
You are welcome to quote a short extract from an article, as long as you credit Affirmcity and link back to the original page.
4. Comments and messages
If you post a comment or send us a message, you agree that what you submit:
- is your own, or you have the right to share it;
- is respectful, and is not abusive, hateful, threatening, obscene, defamatory or discriminatory;
- is not spam, advertising or a link scheme, and does not contain personal information about other people;
- does not break any law or anyone else’s rights.
By posting a comment, you allow us to display, edit for length or clarity, and keep it on the Site. We may review, refuse or remove any comment at our discretion, without notice. Comments reflect the views of the person who wrote them, not of Affirmcity.
5. Our content and intellectual property
Unless stated otherwise, all content on the Site, including text, affirmations, letters, images, graphics, logos and the Affirmcity name, belongs to Affirmcity or is used with permission, and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms gives you ownership of, or a licence to use, our content beyond what is described in section 3.
If you believe content on the Site infringes your copyright, email us at [email protected] with details of the work and where it appears, and we will review it promptly.
6. Advertising and links to other websites
The Site shows advertising, including ads served by Google, which helps keep Affirmcity free. Our articles may also link to other websites. We do not control and are not responsible for advertisers, other websites, or their content, products, services or privacy practices. Any dealings you have with them are between you and them.
7. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use personal information, and our Cookie Policy explains the cookies we use. Both form part of these Terms.
8. Availability and changes to the Site
We work to keep the Site available and accurate, but we do not promise that it will always be available, uninterrupted, error-free or up to date. We may change, suspend or remove any part of the Site at any time.
9. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The Site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Affirmcity will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Site or its content, or from relying on anything published on it. This includes indirect or consequential loss, loss of data, and loss caused by viruses or by other websites linked from the Site. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
10. Indemnity
You agree to compensate Affirmcity for any claims, losses or costs that arise because you broke these Terms or misused the Site, including content you submit.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute relating to the Site or these Terms will be handled by the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria, unless the law of the country where you live gives you the right to bring a claim there.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If you keep using the Site after an update, you accept the updated Terms.
