Can You Have Too Many Daily Affirmations

Having too many daily affirmations is not good if you need to get good and tangible results. Whenever you are making affirmations, you need all the focus you can get.

You need to channel all your energy in that direction and that is why you need to have one daily affirmation. Having too many daily affirmations would distract you and eventually reduce the effect of the exercise.

However, there is no specific number that stands as too much or too little. This is determined by the attention ability of different individuals.

Our ability to focus on different things differ and the limit for one might not be the limit for another.

How do you know you have too many daily affirmations?

Once your mind begins to lose focus, then it is a pointer that you are clogging up your mind with too many affirmations.

Why is it bad to have too many affirmations

Having too many affirmations is one of the greatest disservices to do to yourself. A lot of people claim that they are not seeing a lot of changes in their lives despite their affirmations.

I ask them to show me the things they say and then I see a 100page book full of affirmations that they say daily.

The truth is that you cannot finish saying those words in the right state of mind. At some point, you would get tired and just want to get it over with.

If you would see an effective result from your affirmations, then you must come to understand that your entire being must be focused on the words you are speaking.

While affirming, your inner vision should be seeing the possibilities you are trying to create, your inner perception begins to get affected by the words and you must also believe that what you are saying is true.

However, this would not be true if you are saying a lot of words. Before you know it, you would lose focus and then your energy would fizzle out.

Reading affirmations like mantras does not generate any tangible result whatsoever. If you want to see results, you must properly channel your inner energy towards the direction of the words you are speaking.

Having too many daily affirmations is bad if you want to generate results in your life. There are a lot of disadvantages of having too many daily affirmations and I would talk about 5 of them briefly in this article.

Loss of focus

When you use too many daily affirmations, you would lose focus on what exactly you want to achieve. This is true. I have experienced this personally and I have also heard it from most of my clients whenever they meet me for therapy sessions.

When you say too many things at once, you begin to lose focus on what you want to achieve. There is a subtle way of trying to justify what you do by saying that saying too many daily affirmations addresses a lot of issues at once which would, in turn, reduce the stress of having to set another set of affirmations for other issues.

While this is true, it is not all correct and cannot be sustainable. When you have too many daily affirmations to say, your mind would lose focus at a particular point. No matter how strong your mind-power is, you cannot put pressure on it beyond a limit.

Once you get to this limit, your mind begins to lose focus and begins to waver. Losing focus is the common disadvantage of using too many daily affirmations.

Either you write them down, saying them out, or listening to them from other people, once it gets too much, you would lose focus. You cannot achieve anything tangible this way.

It would be impossible for you to specifically point out a tangible effect with this method. This is why I always counsel people to take things one step at a time.

Most times, it is impatience that causes a lot of people to coin up too many words of affirmation for themselves. It does not work that way. In order to get the result, you must ensure that you use simple and few words of affirmation on a daily basis.

To get results, you need your mind to be focused on the result you are trying to change or manifest with your affirmations.

Inconsistency

Using too many daily affirmations would lead to inconsistency. This is very true. It is very hard for you to sustain what stresses your mind out for long.

So, as much as you are motivated to start using affirmations, you must also remember that the goal is not to The goal is to continue to use these affirmations to get the result you want to get.

This is very important. Using too many daily affirmations is not sustainable in the long run. This simply means that at some point, you are going to get tired of saying too much stuff.

Once this happens, you would stop saying those affirmations which also means that you won’t see any result or change.

It is consistency that brings the change you desire and to maintain this consistency, you need to use few words of affirmations that you can easily say with your mind focused.

Using too many daily affirmations is not sustainable and would lead to inconsistency which bears no fruit.

Lack of motivation

This is another disadvantage of using too many daily affirmations. I hate to realize that I have a lot of work to do every day.

Coming up with too many words is a bad idea. It would get to a point where you would dread your affirmation time because of the number of words you would have to say.

Once lack of motivation sets in, then inconsistency is the next thing to come. It is easy to get demoralized by too many daily affirmations.

Initially, when you start, you would always be eager to say these words. However, in the long run, you begin to dwindle in motivation; most especially when you begin to see that the results are not coming as expected.

This is why you need to keep it short and simple enough for your mind to see it as a good daily activity to do. My affirmation time is fun to me because I don’t have a lot to say.

The opposite would be the case for me if I had coined up a whole book full of affirmations and I have to say them all daily.

Scattered energy

Using too many daily affirmations leads to scattered mental energy which not produce any tangible result.

When it comes to using daily affirmations and getting results with them, you need to focus all your mental energy on the words you are saying, and also, your energy must be channeled towards the issue you are trying to address.

However, using too many words of affirmation would not achieve this purpose.

Your mental energy would be scattered all around and would be unable to produce the tangible result you want to generate over time.

You might get results, but it would take a long time and in some cases even years before you see the result eventually.

Wrong priorities

This is also a very common disadvantage of using too many daily affirmations. Using too many daily affirmations can cause you to start placing priority on the wrong things.

Let’s say for instance that you want to use affirmations for your mindset and confidence, if you use too many daily affirmations, you can begin to place priority on your body shape. This is very possible.

Using too many daily affirmations would cause you to major on the minor and minor on the major.

This is why you should keep it very simple enough in order to focus on the most important aspect and place priority on that aspect alone and exclusively.

Is one daily affirmation better than one set of daily affirmations

Can You Have Too Many Daily Affirmations

No. One set of daily affirmations is better than just a single word of affirmation.

When you say affirmations, one thing you must pay attention to is how you feel whenever you say them. The reason for this is that there is no need to continue to say a word that does not resonate with your emotions.

To get results, one of the most important things is your emotion. Your emotion must resonate with the words you are speaking out. This is why using a set of daily affirmations is good and better than one word of affirmation.

For instance, if I want to use affirmation to overcome doubts and low self-esteem.

  • I am bold – One word of affirmation.

One set of daily affirmations

I am bold

I am the best there is

There is nothing to be afraid of

My background does not make me inferior

This is my reality

Pay close attention to both words carefully and observe how you feel when you use both of them.

Try it out right away.

Now, what did you observe?

You would observe that using one word of affirmation just sounded so harsh, sharp, and dry. It literally feels like you are a robot.

As a matter of fact, you are simply just saying it out and it is not making much sense to you. Your emotions are detached from the word.

The word is too short and abrupt to get your emotions to agree with it. As a matter of fact, it feels so cold and insensitive to the issue you are trying to address.

Furthermore, there is no opportunity for your mind to further express itself.

However, when you said the other set of daily affirmations, you would observe that your emotions were channeled. The reason for this is because using one set of daily affirmations allows you to further express yourself and what exactly you want to address.

Using a set of daily affirmations lets you express yourself much more. It makes you feel like a human and not a robot. It channels your emotions and begins to fill your mind up with the necessary energy as you continue to say those words out.

Using a set of daily affirmations is better than just spewing out one word of affirmation on a daily basis. As much as it is bad to use too many daily affirmations, using a short one is also bad as well. It might not generate many results for you.

You might literally become a robot who just says those words repeatedly till it makes no sense to you anymore and you would have to abandon it.

However, using a set of daily affirmations allows you to express yourself much more in your words which then arouses your emotions and begins to positively affect your mind for the necessary result you desire.

Should you write down your affirmations instead of saying them?

Both work hand in hand. However, there are some situations that would be suitable for writing down affirmations and there are some situations that can be suitable for saying out affirmations.

Writing down affirmations is great whenever there is a goal you want to achieve or when there is a focus you have and you don’t want to get distracted whatsoever.

When it comes to achieving a set of objectives, then writing down affirmations is a good way to get this done.

Saying out affirmations is great for motivating and encouraging yourself. This is one of the best and effective ways to battle self-doubt, fear, anxiety, or low self-esteem.

Writing down affirmations under this condition might not be a good option.

Depending on what situation you are in, writing down affirmations might be a good option and this is the same as saying out affirmations.

Conclusion

Can You Have Too Many Daily Affirmations

Focus is key whenever it comes to using affirmations. This is why you should keep your affirmations simple, few, and straight to the point in order to get the result you want.

Furthermore, it does not matter if you write it down or say it. Once you can visualize it and believe it, you would see the result in no time.
